About the artist:

Frank's latest original Artworks for Sale as printed signed limited editions.

Frank H. McClean  MA is a professional artist & designer, born and raised in London, studied Fine Art and Design in both London and Liverpool. Frank worked for many years as a senior scenic artist at The National Theatre and Festival Ballet.

He later established the art and design production company, Silver Lining Vision by Design that provided a wide variety of creative solutions for many multinational companies.

Past creative commercial projects have included marketing, multimedia design, plastic moulding, scenic art and props for TV and Film industries, exhibition stand design and production, commercial interior design for night clubs, restaurants and prestigious private homes.

Frank has lectured in Aesthetics and taught Fine Art & Design, CAD and Multimedia at Bournemouth University. He continues to be an active artist developing a substantial body of work.

Frank’s diverse and wide ranging interests in imagery with strong graphic qualities/composition, including light and shadow, in plant foliage and the natural environment. The intention behind all Frank’s artwork is to enhance contemplation and encourage the practice of observing ‘everyday’ things around us.

Holt Tannery and Spa

The studio is within a part of a beautiful grade II listed Tannery building dating back to the 18th century. In 1770 J & T Beaven (Tannery) was founded on the site to sort, grade and value fleeces and make high quality chamois leathers and gloves.

The site had gained national fame as a spa in 1730.The local mineral waters were highly desirable with claims for ‘one hundred and twelve cures’.
